Two Posts One Day

Apparently today is twice as awesome.  I am so incredibly excited about this series.  This is the heaviest geeking out that I have done in the past 3 years.  I think these pieces are finally pushing my plateau.  I fought so hard to learn to use acrylic paint and now it is definitely time to reject that ability.

I think I will soon be changing up the imagery in these too.  I want to do more power line pieces like I had been working on in the past month but utilizing this same method.  I feel very interested in how these pieces are more dependent on the materials than previous works.

Anyway, back to work.  I was just excited and wanted to share.
Peace

Mike, I found you completely by accident. I really like your stuff.

I am a 73-year-old Brit and I play around with bits of wood, emulsion paint and a high-powered sander - when my wife gives me permission to go to the workshop.

I hadn't thought about them as artwork.
They usually get turned into mirrors or clocks.
The family keeps stealing them so i never get to exhibit or sell very much.

I tart them up with small (1/4") and large ( 3/4" rose head) hand-made nails - especially if there are nail holes already in the wood.

- anyway it stops me getting wistful about being retired.

4th July - (isn't there something about that date?)

Paul,

Your work sounds interesting; right up my alley. I'm glad to hear that you are spending your seventies playing around with some art projects. My father is about there and I keep hoping that he will start a similar trend.

Thanks for reading.

Mike

Oh and I hear there was something about the fourth, mostly from US citizens though. I've also heard that nothing happened in 1812. At least one Brit told me that.
